As someone who was very self conscience about my sweating and odor during puberty, I thought the concept of this book was cute. He makes soap, she stinks, he loves her smell, they fall for each other. Quirky romance for some light reading, right?
I didn't really enjoy the execution.
It was just uncomfortable. He was in her personal space without permission much of the time. Her body language said no. Later they have more of an understanding, but what was sold as a romance was more of a primal drive (he *needs* to smell her? She is somehow healing from being bullied because of it?).
There were a few cute or interesting moments, but not enough to keep me reading the series.

I read this thinking it would just be some solid smut. It's not, its more of a romance, but I can't take it seriously with all the cringey smelling scenes.
I am going to try vol 2, because I liked it enough to give it a little longer, but overall, it doesn't quite deliver on what I was hoping for.
