Such a lovely read aloud for kids. I enjoyed the original series, and these are a wonderful selection of children's stories from those original books.

Made a good audiobook for a family car trip. It helped that the girls had read some of the stories before in picture book format.

Such a wonderful book! I really like that the stories are more realistic - none of the animals talk or do human things, they're just animals that need help. There are some sad moments, but mostly happy and fun, and the sad moments are realistic and those that a child could easily experience with a pet of theirs. The illustrations are wonderful as well, and done in a more realistic style as opposed to a cartoon. This is a sweet, gentle book that highlights the importance of animals in our lives, especially to the farming community that Dr. Herriot serves. Highly Recommended!

One of the most important books of my childhood. I would carry it everywhere with me and read the stories over and over again. It had a great and positive impact on my life.

I absolutely adore this treasury, whether I am reading it aloud or listening Jim Dale reading it in the audiobook version (I own both I love it so much). The perfect book to read or listen to on a cozy day.
