I gave this book four stars because of the critical issues it discusses, and because of the questions it poses that have long been left unanswered. In a lot of places in the book, though, the writing was confusing and hard to follow, and there were a good number of sections I had to go back and re-read in order to follow the timeline and the evidence presented. I would expect better writing from an award-winning journalist. However, I do think that Canadians should really read this book .

The subject matter of this book deserves a 5/5 but I really struggled with the author's writing style. You should still read it though.

This book was enlightening and heartbreaking and eye opening to see how Canada still has such an anti-Native attitude in ways I never knew still existed. It’s about the tragedy of these young teens who go missing and are sadly found dead and how no one in authority takes it serious enough to look for them. How assumptions were made just because of where the kids came from and how those assumptions are a difference between life and death…
Reasons i Recommend:
1) Non-fiction and true stories about the tragic deaths of seven different teens in Northern Ontario over the last 20-25 years.
2) Discusses the still lingering effects of residential schools on those who attended and
3) The appalling lack of assistance offered in not only education but in what has come to be basic rights for Canadians that are not shown to the natives of this country.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
