I couldn't love this book. Multiple viewpoints on different timelines. It was hard to remember who was who. That was probably the biggest mystery to me... who was this chapter about?

This book didn't keep my attention in the same way as the first did- even still, it was good. Ridiculous, but good.

The Kind Worth Saving (Henry Kimball/Lily Kintner #2)
By Peter Swanson, narrated by Keith Szarabajka, Kathleen Early, Helen Laser, Micky Shiloah

Henry Kimball is back, living a quiet life with his cat and his work. He lost his police job after that stalking business a while back. He owns up to it, has no regrets, and thinks he got what he deserved. He has another "failure" in his past that bothers him more. Before he worked in law enforcement Henry could have done something as a high school teacher but he choked and let something bad happen.

That bad event comes to the forefront when Joan, an old student of Henry's, asks him to follow her husband and his girlfriend. Henry's good point is he loves his cat. Henry's bad points are that he's not very good at reading people and he makes some really bad decisions when it comes to his work and everyday life. He's already paid for some of those decisions and he just might pay again, if he's not careful.

Early on we learn just how rotten some of the players in Henry's life are so we then get to watch them do their dirty deeds. Later in the story, Henry's former stalkee, Lily, makes an appearance. For all of Henry's incompetence, Lily gets things done. These two may not be a pair made in heaven but they seem to be best friends forever (at least until we see what happens in the next book?). I think I liked Henry better before I knew so much about him but he does get major brownie points for always making sure someone is taking care of his cat.

Thanks to my library and Libby for this audiobook.
