I wish I was not limited by 5 stars because it deserves so much more.
An epic fantasy read, amazing characters, a well-developed storyline and put that all together and *chef's kiss*. Definitely a worthwhile read. Gonna get the sequel soon and cannot wait!

Honestly surprised to see it's a children's book, but a 490 page book at that. I guess Dutch education is superior like that

Dit is wel echt een boek voor wat jongere kinderen, denk ik, want toen ik het nog eens herlas toen ik twaalf was verveelde het me al. Maar het is en blijft een echt topboek!
(Herlezen met m'n jongere broertje: het is wel super sloom, maar hij vond het leuk)
This is probably a book for somewhat younger children, because when I reread it when I was 12 it kinda bored me. But it is and stays a great book!

Ich hatte das Buch vor vielen Jahren zuletzt in der Hand und es war auch beim zweiten Lesen noch genauso spannend, wie ich es in Erinnerung hatte! Ich konnte es kaum aus der Hand legen. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass Tiuri so aufrichtig und ehrlich ist, ohne dass es ins Lächerliche abgleiten würde.
