Defeated by Demons is the third installment within The Heart of a Monster series. I'm just going to say it loud and proud, they finally did it. Not only did Quinn and Rollick get together but we also see them ALL get together. Seriously, my heart was so freaking happy.

The only thing holding me back is the unknown about Quinn and her freaking heart. There's betrayal and drama happening as well. I'm not a huge fan of the other sorcerers because they seem like huge dicks. I also don't like how they willingly kill innocent people either.

In the end, that little cliffhanger has left me annoyed because I wanted all the answers tied up with a huge bow. Maybe I will get that with the next book? If not, I will riot.

Defended by Demons by Eva Chase is an urban fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Amber Lee Connors and Aiden Snow. This is the third book in The Heart of a Monster series.

I love Eva's books! I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am loving the chemistry between Quinn, Torrent, Lance, Crag, and Rollick. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ended on a great cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait to dive into the final book in the series Hailed by Fiends.

Aiden and Amber did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you're looking for an urban fantasy romances, why choose romances, or romantic suspense.

I struggled a little to stay into it. Parts ended up boring me. But not enough for me to quit the series.
I might be enjoying this series the most out of eva’s books.

“I’m not saying you’re not a monster. Only that I know you’ll be one for me, not to me.” Just as I would be for the ones I cared about.

ive read so many books where the main heroine is in love with non humans but idk the way this series is doing it… hits different. feels so much more, like, deep. i have no other way to describe it.
every time you think quinn’s situation can’t get worse, IT DOES! BEST BELIEVE!
i’ve always believed in the “sometimes you have to become a monster to take one down” thing. and i like that this series leans in heavily to that. i have a feeling it’ll happen even more in the final installment.

Each book gets better and better!

If you're here reading these, you've likely already read the other books. Or, you've at least read THOSE reviews, so you should know what you're getting into by now.

So with that said, I'll leave you with this (as my title states): Each book really does get better than the last. If that's the case, I'm pretty darned excited about the final one! I'm off to read it now!

Random thoughts - Love em but wish they brought Sorsha in way more. I want the payoff of ‘ha look at our fivesomes we both built. lol.’ Every time Lance calls someone tricksy I can’t help but roll my eyes. Def wish rollick were into crossing swords with the fellas.
Overall enjoyed it like the others but wish this had been condensed into a three book series instead of four. Same with Sorsha’s. They end up dragging through the end.

So Good!

I already loved Rollick as the bad guy, but Rollick in this book? I am beyond enamored! All of the monstrous men with all the monstrous parts!

I can’t wait to see how Quinn and her men defeat this threat. I loved the utilization of her original passion for design/architecture to help her in her fight against the monstrous villains they are facing!
