I really liked this novella but the ending wasn’t for me. Apparently this series is super steamy, which I didn’t know, and it hits you over the head. I’ll be skipping the rest. I also felt like this protagonist wasn’t the badass scientists of the author’s other books.

I was hopeful about this book given my own environmentally focused background. The main characters’ occupations gave context for the enemies to lovers plot. However, I felt there could have been more serious character development between them, more opportunities to challenge eachother while uncovering commonalities. Liam is a lovable character, and I like that he was relatively kind from the start even if he came across as serious. He was written to be gentle, sweet, and thoughtful. Mara is light hearted with a good sense of humor. There’s really only one spicy scene, but it was satisfying to read.
