Very winding, but pretty good.

Your basic spy vs. terrorist novel but with some added character development that I hope will continue as the series goes along.

3.5 rounded. I found the tedious history lectures really annoying. I like historical background, but please don’t shove it down our throats.

I know many who love this series, but I didn’t connect with the characters or the writing. Still a decent storyline and plot for a spy book

The first Gabriel Allon book. Listened to the audio -- excellent reader.
A charismatic character -- I understand why people wanted more books about Allon.
An enjoyable listen; suspenseful, but not TOO much for me! And of course, I love that he is an art restorer.

This was a struggle from beginning to end. Too many characters who the author would refer to as their first name, or last name interchangeably, which didn’t help with my confusion.
The story itself was interesting. But I really didn’t engage with it.

I have found a new fun thriller series. I thought the characters were well developed. The plot twists were often surprising. It makes me want to read more about the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. And, it was thoroughly enjoyable. All good. Exactly what I needed to end the summer.
