Przepiękny powrót do świata wykreowanego przez Montgomery. Cudowni, kochani bohaterowie, którzy sprawiają, że czułam się jak część ich świata. Obserwacje rozwoju charakteru Rilli, jej opieka nad Jasiem, niezwykle dorosłe decyzje podejmowane przez chłopców w czasie wojny były wprost niezwykłe. Była to według mnie najbardziej dopracowana i dojrzała książka Mongomery jaką dotąd czytałam. Powieść rozbudzała we mnie emocje od śmiechu przez irytacje po płacz, a każdą wiadomość z frontu przeżywałam równie mocno jak bohaterowie.
