Three actresses who have played/are currently cast as the same 30s-era fictional detective, Dahlia Lively, work together to solve a real mystery during a fan convention held at the author’s estate. Loved the concept, setting, and characters, but thought the pace was a little slow and repetitive. That said, the ending is set up for it to be a series (I think), and I’m excited to read book two asap!

This was a fun mystery, and though it is a murder mystery it was surprisingly light. It was one where you really don't need to delve too deeply into it and just have a good time, which sometimes you need. The story itself is fairly basic, the characters are likeable enough, and the writing completely serviceable.
It just isn't one that is going to longer long with me, which is completely fine.

2.75/5. I bought this book in London because we were going to the countryside the next day and I wanted a cute cozy English countryside mystery, but where was the cute English countryside??? I feel like this story could've happened everywhere. It was a typical mystery story, but I just wasn't very impressed with the characters and the way Watson described the house and everything. I enjoyed it, but I'm not going to buy the next book in the series.

I really couldn't get stuck into this book, I really like the uniqueness of the storyline never read anything like it before, but something about it just didn't connect to me.
