I loved this book!! Amy Meyerson has a way of making me fully invested in her stories. I love the character dynamics and the mystery keeps me turning the page. This is a beautiful story about the messiness of family and the length we are willing to go to for those we love.
Wow, this was a whirlwind! I loved the book, was a little disappointed with the ending though, that we never found out where Victor went or what the seed parcels meant. However have not been able to put this down for the last 48 hours so I would say this was a great read nonetheless :)
Very well written too!

The Imperfects is a story about a very imperfect family. The Millers rarely speak to each other and when they do they are ready for a "Miller style blow out". When Helen, the grandmother passes away the Millers try to put their differences aside to honor their grandmother. Beck, inherits a mysterious diamond broach from her grandmother. This sets of a the Millers to band together the best they can to uncover their grandmother's past.
I absolutely loved the Imperfects. Weaving between the characters and time you got a full view of the family and who they were. When a book has less than perfect characters I can not help but love them because they feel like real people. All of the history, and the use of a real missing diamond really pulled me into the story. The attention to detail, thought and research that wen into this book is incredible. It was so hard to put this book down, I couldn't wait to see how the Miller family's story unfolded.
A special thank you to NetGalley and Park Row for my ARC and this wonderful reading opportunity. The Imperfects is set to be published May 5, 2020.

This was a lovely book about a family who has struggled to be there for each other and how the weight of grief and a potential multi-million dollar inheritance fixes nothing and makes all their failings more present. I really enjoyed it and I learned a surprising amount of Austrian history.

I really enjoyed my time with this family story. It has all the elements of a family saga, historical fiction as well as a little mystery. I liked the characters and the story moves slowly but managed to hold my interest the whole way. It has a lot of characters which are sometimes hard to keep track of. It also has a handful of twists along the way. But at its heart this is a story about family.
An interesting multigenerational mystery revolving around imperfect families, forgiveness, and the real life missing Florentine Diamond.
I am bumping my rating to a solid 4 stars. While it stumbles a few times in the flow of the story, in the end, it all comes together and with great meaning and impact.
This is a story of families, of anger, of fear, and ultimately of love. The love of a family is complicated and messy and not always simple. But in the end, it is enough.

Sometimes it is fun to read a book you don't remember being interested in! Somehow I thought this was one of those east coast dysfunctional family stories that I think need their own genre. And in a way it is which is what probably drew me to it. However, someone I missed the whole part about the mystery diamond! What a great story line that was! I really enjoyed how they went about tracking its history down. That made for very engaging story.
A forgettable dysfuction family story
After the death of their grandmother, estranged siblings find a treasure hidden among her belongings - a 137-carat diamond. Now they must dive into their grandmother's history to figure out if they are the rightful heirs. More than anything, The Imperfects is a tale of dysfunctional family relationships and the struggle to forgive and understand those closest to you. In all, the book was 3 stars for me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable. I failed to empathize with any of the characters, and without that connection, I'm likely to forget I ever read this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Harlequin through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
