Super fucking frustrating because I just wanted to know wtf was going on the entire time. Then figuring out that she’s probably Lia and finally having it confirmed and it still not making any fucking sense killed me. Now i gotta start the second book because ?????

I am glad I looked up spoilers for this series because I was ready to DNF at 55%. I didn't like Lia. I didn't like anyone. It was so toxic and strange. Dark romances should have something that keeps you interested but without have more background or characterization for Winter, she just gets lost in the story. And it becomes more about the plot of her pretending to be his wife over everything else. Previous history aside, it was also annoying to just see Adrian and Winter/Lia not like each other. Most of my notes for the sex scenes were negative because it read more like assault and honestly that's the biggest turn off.  If I continue this series, it will be because I want to see how the rest of it plays out. Maybe.

I'm sorry but was it supposed to be romantic or dark-romance-ish?
My first Rina Kent book....and I probably picked the wrong one. There was literally zero chemistry between them let alone romance or dark romance.

Adrian was insufferable. He didn't have a dark-romance type obsession with her. His only obsession was keeping her inside his house 24/7.

But the sad thing is the plot isn't bad, it's intriguing and I actually wanted to know more about it. If only they had at least just some little chemistry? it would've been an actually good dark-romance book.
But the plot was slow and thousands of repetitive no-chemistry scenes between them.

I still might read the next books someday because I want to know about their past and the plot. But their chemistry isn't there, like seriously.
