Surprised how well this book's scientific ideas hold up even 130 years later. Genuinely still a unique and interesting take on what is now a well known trope, despite being the first of its kind!

La máquina del tiempo ha sido un libro interesante de leer la verdad, con sus altibajos y con sentimientos encontrados por el camino. El relato me enganchó, quería saber que pasaría en el futuro, como terminaría su aventura, que mas vería, el futuro de la humanidad, que desembocó ese futuro distópico podríamos decir, etc. Me gustó el tono descriptivo que tiene, da muchísimas descripciones, muy detalladas, aunque si es verdad que podría haber puesto menos y puede llegar a hacerse pesado tanta descripción, a mi personalmente no me molestó, de hecho me ayudó bastante a "ver" lo que estaba leyendo. Además me gustó mucho la crítica social hecha en época victoriana, que hace ese "alegato" a la lucha de clase, e invita a la reflexión de la evolución social humana, la verdad que por esa parte de crítica me atrajo sinceramente. Por otro lado, los personajes son super planos y sin ninguna trascendencia, para empezar no tienen ni nombre los personajes, lo cuál dificulta el empatizar con ellos y sus circunstancias, el personaje de Weena, que aparte del viajero del tiempo, es el personaje que más se nombra y sale, no tiene nada, es plano, vacío, no habla, no interactúa ella misma, no tiene una historia que contar, nada, y eso lo hizo un poco vacío e hizo que no me importase mucho su desenlace. De igual manera, al parecer, esta obra estaba escrita para que fuese una novela larga, pero aparentemente, por presupuesto y algunos problemas, se tuvo que quedar en esta novela corta, y eso se nota porque está todo escrito con la intención, o aparente intención, de seguirlo más adelante, de que su desarrollo sería posterior, pero ahí se quedó, lo cuál lo dejó un poco vacío sinceramente.
