Not a good book. Kiera Cass seems to solely rely on her covers selling her books, cause her writing sure ain't doing it.

A majority of the plot points come out of nowhere and are poorly developed, characters are unlikable and seitch personalities on a dime. 

I've read better unedited alpha/beta straight fanfics on Wattpad.

Do I dare read the sequel so Cass can disappoint me one more time?

For a 400 page book, my copy is sure missing almost 100 of those pages. I think it lost all the pages with plot except for like the last couple chapters. Literally could not explain this book if anyone asked me to.

Did anyone else catch the use of a slur 3 times? And doing so in SUPER SUPER negative and degrading connotations?

The insta-love was strong in this one. I do not like that trope. So that says all my opinion on that.

I read it really fast because I couldn’t find a bookmark, so I guess that’s a point in its favor?

I actually really like Kiera Cass’ books - I’ve read the entire Selection series top to tail twice - but this one was rough. I have no good sense of the main character’s personality, aside from what her love interests told her she was. I read the book in about three days, so I can’t really say it was awful, but it just felt flat. Not her best work at all, but I will probably read the sequel whenever it arrives, because the plot twist near the end was mind boggling and ya girl needs some resolution.
