3.5 ⭐️ Written with a spellbinding prose, features of this story will stay with me when my mind wanders to witchy thoughts. “The Craft” vibes are definitely present and this is a satisfyingly spooky, magical, coming of age story. Melissa Albert is a beautiful writer, but I had a hard time getting into the story until about halfway through. I would pick up her work again.

Listened on Libby. I always get a little confused with multi povs while listening (unless they state who is narrating) overall I enjoyed this?? Witches, rabbits, spying through mirrors
Really liked how the story was broken up with the mother and daughter dual narrative, and seeing how it comes together in the end. Wasn’t a huge fan of the narrators unfortunately which is why I give it a 4 instead of 5, but loved it aside from that! Secrets are brought to light on both aspects, and you see how the magic impacts everyone’s lives.
Does the fact that I now find myself agreeing with the mom mean I'm getting old or just that teens are getting more... dumb?

Excellent YA witch fantasy-also a great fit for horror fans! I loved the teen witch powers in an everyday commonplace setting--the intergenerational storylines were strong and fed well into each other. Fabulously creepy -- scenes that readers will not forget anytime soon! The romantic storyline was also small but strong and heartbreakingly memorable. Not typically my favorite genre, but this one sucked me right in!

I enjoyed is book but I didn't love it and the cover of book was simple but stunning also the writing was okay. The mystery was fine and the world building as pretty good but I would have at it was flash out bit more also the ending was okay. The paced of plot was well structured and the plot is steady paced also the atmosphere was okay. I have mixed the characters and I would like them to flash out bit more
