Richard and Valerie are back in another murder mystery in the small rural village of Val de Follet. This time around they're tangling with french chefs, stolen desserts, goat cheese, blackmail and illegitimate children. Happily, Richard is less bumbling and clueless this time, coming up with some solid insights during the investigation. My favorite part of these books is Richard's love for old movies, how he sees the world through these movies and classic movie stars.
