I found this book not only enjoyable but also informative. More importantly its why we should be kinder and more accepting of others. Our differences are what make us unique and interesting and no one should be hated for just wanting to be happy.

CW: Transphobia
This was such a heart wrenching novel. Amanda obviously had to deal with a lot of adversity and its devastating to read about her being beaten by local teenagers just because they didn't understand.

Many people could benefit from walking in Amanda's shoes.

This book was my first ever LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈 centered book !! Plus it’s contemporary... It’s fine the book is great for contemporary lovers but I still enjoyed even though I hate contemporary lol 😂
This book talks mostly about a transgender originally named Andrew but after the change of gender he became Amanda ... She moves back with her father to get a new fresh start

I feel like this could have been more detailed but also this subject matter is not my thing. Maybe if I struggled with some of these things and could relate I would like it more. I know someone will judge me on the following statement but this is just an opinion from someone who never truly questioned these things but I do truly believe God made each person the gender they were meant to be and we are born at the time we are meant to be in. Can you imagine being born in the wrong era or body? I cannot so I did not truly get every piece of this book but I did understand the southern stereotypes as a Southern Girl.
Also no idea how I found this book. Don't know how I came to have the Libby audio but here we are. And also I can not even begin to imagine not only the struggle with identity but the feeling and following action of being inadequate to the point of wanting to end my life. I ache thinking about all of the people the world has lost to these things and thoughts.

Such a wonderful book. I love that this was not about Amanda transitioning but just her being a girl and falling in love with a boy. The ending left me wanting so much MORE.
