Just finished and I would define it as scandalous, entertaining and a must read.

Robyn Harding is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.

I'd seen this one on so many people's profiles, and I'm so happy that I got a chance to check this one out! This story got CRAZY, and it was a complete roller coaster of emotions. I thought the author did such a good job of writing these characters, and the creep factor was off the charts. I flew through this book in about two days, and loved trying to figure out what was going to happen. This is a perfect summer thriller for beside the pool or on the beach, so definitely check it out!!

Thank you to Netgalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for a free copy of The Swap in exchange for an honest review.

Quite the page turner, I didn't have too many issues with it regarding believability and motivations. I arched my "really?" brow about the two very different women being so taken with an obviously superficial and narcissistic woman, but then reminded myself that we never truly see people for who they are and that all relationships, platonic or otherwise, go through that initial phase of discovery and excitement, which, when combined with physical beauty, can cast quite the spell.

I originally grabbed this on the library on a whim- it was sitting on a “recommended by a librarian” shelf and librarians know their books. It then sat on my nightstand sort weeks, getting passed over by other “more serious” books. I needed a quick palette cleanser sort of book so ended up grabbing it to read before I went to bed last night. I read the first four pages before falling asleep but woke up immediately wanting to read more. It was catchy, intriguing, written well and it did all my fave things - short chapters, different narrators, mysterious, and exciting to read. I couldn’t put it down all day and was reading it while cooking dinner and while watching my kids run around outside. It’s not the most serious plot but it’s fun and takes your mind off anything else going on - which is one of the best parts about reading.

I’d give it a 5 in terms of “good quick reads”.

*Thanks to Gallery/Scout Press + NetGalley for the ARC!*

I FUCKING LOVED THIS BOOK. It was wild, and at times you could FEEL the darkness just seeping off the page. I really enjoyed the way real life struggles
Spoiler(like a friend struggling with infertility while her childless-by-choice friend gets pregnant)
and absolutely INSANE happenings that would only happen in a novel was super well done here and made sense.

A riveting tale about the toxic relationship between two couples after a night of sexual shenanigans, and the manipulative teenager with an explosive secret at the center of it all.

Looking for a book with super toxic characters, friendships and secrets? Look no further than Robyn Harding's THE SWAP! Full of unlikable characters, obsession and explosive secrets, I loved every minute of this book.

The relationships (or lack there of) between Low, Jamie and Freya were absolute train wrecks - and just like the saying goes, I couldn't look away. This is my second book by Harding and I will FOR SURE be reading the rest of her back list!

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for my ARC! THE SWAP is out now.

I received an advanced reader copy of The Swap from Gallery Books via NetGalley, in return for my honest opinion.

The Swap by Robyn Harding is a story about the pull of a toxic friendship. Low is an awkward teen with no friends- her demeanor and home life make her a social outcast. Freya has been shunned by her social media followers and is trying to figure out how she fits into her new life. Low starts taking pottery lessons from Freya and is instantly enraptured by her. Both are hard up for friends and quickly take a liking to each other.

Jamie and her husband, Brian, have recently moved to town and are hoping this slower pace of life will help Jamie become pregnant. Jamie owns a store that sells Freya’s pottery, soon Jamie, Freya and their husbands become friendly. One rambunctious night will change the marriage of both couples leaving everyone at odds. Recently spurned Low will stop at nothing to get her friendship with Freya back and soon finds herself becomes the middle-man between Freya and Jamie.

This book just didn’t do it for me- the pace seemed to slow down in the second half of the book, but it could have been that I just wasn’t invested in any of the characters. The Swap is available today, Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
