This was entertaining, but a little too-clever-by-half sometimes. The whole "if you've never [insert excruciatingly specific zombie behavior here], then you probably wouldn't understand" thing got real old real quick. But a fun read nonetheless.

This was fantastic!! What a fun book!! Honestly it made me choke up at a point near the end. It’s gory, funny, sweet, & highlights the inequalities of the world we live in with its dark humor!

Hilarious!

I really liked the concept behind this novel--told from the perspective of a zombie--but in the end it just didn't turn out to be as entertaining a I'd hoped. The idea that zombies are considered more like an animal and are stripped of any rights and privileges in society was interesting, as was the whole "zombie rights" movement. This really didn't catch my interest until they realized the lure of eating human flesh--up until then I really did feel like I was slogging through.

It had a fairly dark humor, of course, which I can always appreciate, but at times it was a bit too much and too repetitive. Other reviewers have complained about how many times that the author used the "If you have had X happen to you, then you wouldn't know" and it does get pretty old.

In the end, I think I really just wanted more flesh eating and less romance. This wasn't bad by any means, it just wasn't what I expected. I enjoyed it enough that it wasn't a waste of time.

Overall, a quick read and an interesting take on zombies from the zombie perspective. Really, they're just like everyone else other than all the rotting.

Intetesting and different.

Undead humor - love it! And I thought the main character was familiar and lo, I looked up the author and turns out I have read one of his other books "I Saw Zombies Eating Santa Claus: A Breathers Christmas Carol". Definitely will stay on my radar for more.
