Thinking back it’s somehow a bit funny, but little me was not having it.
Now I reread it and honestly, it was actually pretty good, maybe a bit overrated.
Easy to read and adventurous.
Ofc I was sometimes a bit annoyed by Feyre being told not to do something because it is very dangerous and doing exactly that 10 minutes later, but hey …. I was more annoyed by Tam.
And I know that my annoyance will only increase in the second book. :)
Btw, if you have read the book or don’t want to read it but are curious about the plot:
I recommend watching A court of thorns and roses | animated summary by TheCookieRhino on YouTube. It’s funny and sums up the thoughts I had while rereading it pretty well
Graphic: Blood, Sexual content, Violence, Vomit, Alcohol, Murder, and Torture
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts and War

Rhys is great too, and I like enemies to lovers tropes so them together would probably be more interesting. If she chooses him won’t the love of this book be for naught? She does everything out of love for Tamlin.
Moderate: Animal death, Blood, Body horror, Death, Violence, Vomit, Alcohol, Gore, Torture, Confinement, Grief, and Injury/Injury detail

5/5 Audiobook (GraphicAudio dramatized adaption)
The audiobook definitely made my reading experience much more enjoyable than if I were to only read ACOTAR. It truly felt like I was watching a movie in my mind - full cast narration, background music/ambience, and sound effects. I binged the entire book in two sittings.
The story itself was still good, but I don't think I would have read it so quickly without the dramatized audiobook. The first half of the story was slow - we spend a lot of time with just Feyre, Tamlin, and Lucien - but I liked getting to know the trio, Feyre had chemistry with both characters (one romantic and the other friendly). Feyre was a good balance of helpless human girl and insanely brave underdog.
The pacing picks up at the 50% mark and the vibes of the story flip - there's more action and higher stakes in the second half of the book. I found some parts to be cheesy and more fairytale than high fantasy novel. I really liked every character except Amarantha - they made her out to be a big bad villain but her part in the book was underwhelming.
I can't wait to see how the rest of the series plays out
Graphic: Violence and Blood
Moderate: Sexual content

The characters are well-rounded, especially Feyre. There are a couple of plot inaccuracies
Nonetheless, this was one of the best books I've read. I can't wait to read the rest of the series - I hope they're as good as this one!
