Well plotted, well written, but seriously depressing. There isn't a lot to lighten the gloom in this book. I found I had to read it in small doses, it's definitely not a relaxing read but it is worth sticking with. A little more balance between light and shade and I would have given it five stars.

Huge waste of potential. I was so shocked at the ending, simply because how can you cut this off there? And I hated that such a good premise ended up being character driven only.

With an overpopulated earth and resources dwindling the only option the Government has determined for its inhabitants is to put them to sleep; so begins the story of how this dystopian world came to be. We hear from two viewpoints, Ben Middleton who tries to stop this new world with his anarchist group NSF and Peruzzi the caretaker for his districts sleeping inhabitants.

The story and its characters were so gripping that I read this in one sitting. The two protagonists Ben and Peruzzi were both flawed but so real that I couldn't relax until I knew exactly what was going to happen to them. 5 Stars and would definitely recommend!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book to read in order for an honest review

Terrifying book but I loved it! This book is such chaotic read, you have 3 perspectives "Before", Ben and Peruzzi. These perspectives at first seem relatively unconnected but you watch them all come crashing together. The setting of a world where resources have run out and the solution is "The Sleep", the discoveries that Peruzzi makes about what is outside the compound and the crashing of the "before" into what is the present for the character is incredible. I definitely recommend this book but it definitely isn't a hopeful book.

This was not a very well written book, at times sentences fully didn't make sense no matter how many times I tried to Interperet them, and asked for others opinions. I finished it purely so I could tick it off my list.
