We love this book! The story is so sweet and the illustrations are beautiful. This is an excellent story to read if you want a bit of nature or gardening inspiration, if you want a book that goes through the seasons, or if you just want to add a bit of beauty to your story time.

One of our free Imagination Library books. A nice little story, with a gentle plot and lovely drawings. We especially liked the page with all the seeds identified.

We loved this book. It's very reminiscent of "Miss Rumphius" which we also loved. Grown-ups will love Miss Maple, who cares for all of her seeds like they are her own children "Take care, my little ones, for the world is big and you are small." And kids love the pictures, including one page of many detailed pictures of seed varieties which is great for discussion.

Sweet story with a nice idea of a special lady taking care of seeds. She gathers them up in the fall and teaks care of them all winter long before sending them on their way in the spring time. My favorite picture is of Miss Maple sending them off at night along the lake. Very sweet. She continuously tells the seeds, "Take care, my little ones, for the world is big and you are small." My favorite line is when she tells the seeds, "But never forget... even the grandest of trees once had to grow up from the smallest of seeds," as she looks at a forest of tall, tall trees.

The whimsical drawings & beautiful depiction of the plant lifecycle from smallest seed to tallest tree really drew me in.
