Great story about a cat who truly made a difference in the lives of the people he knew and who knew him ❤️
lighthearted relaxing slow-paced

Started as a read aloud with my 8 year olds and they wanted to quit about 1/4 through. I think in theory it’s a really cute idea for a book, but we found the book to be too slow-paced for what we typically enjoy.

At the outset I expected this to be just another book with cute animal stories -- and it was, mostly. There were also a lot of interesting stories about libraries and how they work, and the town and peopele of Spencer. The author says it best at the end ... "If you are going to care that a cat helped save a town, you have to care about that town, right? And if you are going to understand how Dewey changed lieves, then you need to understand what kinds of lives he changed." I agree, and I appriciated that book more because of that.

bir Sarman erkek annesi olarak kalbimi ısıtan, bir canlının ve koşulsuz sevgisinin ne kadar çok insana dokunabileceğinin yumuşacık ve turuncu hikayesi

If I was choosing between this and Marley and Me, I'd choose Marley and Me. However, had a few good points too.

I just started this book yesterday, have only read four chapters, and already I'm engrossed. I've also been a little teary-eyed at spots and I just STARTED reading it. I think there will be serious crying by the end.

Stay tuned!

Don't let the fact that it took me an unusually long time to read this book to dissuade you from picking it up.

I went on vacation and don't like to take library books with me when I travel. But once I returned and finished the last vacation paperback, it was no problem getting back into the tail, er, tale of Dewey and his friends in Spencer.

A charming story that is an unusual type of memoir. It tells of Dewey, yes, but it's also a bit of a love story about Spencer told through the unjaundiced eyes of Vicki Myron, who also weaves in a bit of her own life.

All in all, a pleasant read.
