3.5⭐️
-loved how most of this book took place on nightshade & learning isla’s background/family history
-there were a LOT of plots going on in this to where it got a little confusing
-the book felt kind of rushed with some parts
-still interesting & enjoyable based on the characters

The last 25% was better than the first 75%. Every long series has a lull….this is that book…Isla annoys me in ways I can’t even articulate- but i continue reading…

The last 50 pages somehow made the book slightly better.
But most of the time I just felt like everything was going in circles.
The villain came out of nowhere and a lot of things just didn't make sense.
Isla somehow also kept going in circles until the end of the book.
Also, I was sometimes a bit confused as to whether Isla had a plan or not.
Sometimes I felt like she didn't even know herself.
I still don't like Grimm.
Oron is okay I think?
But if she had never met them, it would probably have been better for everyone.
Well now i finished the book.
Other than that i dont know what to say.

Is this a good book, begrudgingly, yes.

Was Isla insufferable for over 75% of the book, also, yes.

Did I physically throw this book when it ended on a cliffhanger, again, yes.

I don’t know how I am going to get through another book of Isla being an absolute idiot so I can find out what happens to Grim and Oro…
