A collection of short stories -- some quirky, some humorous, some dark -- but all thought provoking and many symbolic. It was neat to see Gaiman write on a variety of different topics and in a variety of different styles.

Some wonderful stories in this anthology. Particularly enjoyed Chivalry, Shoggoth's Old Peculiar, We Can Get Them For You Wholesale, Mouse, Babycakes, We Went to See the End of the World, and Murder Mysteries.
A collection of short stories. Ok, but I was somewhat disappointed, given his other work.
Top of the class Neil Gaiman. This collection of short stories gives an excellent view of the scope and variety of writing that he commands and actually would be an excellent place for a Gaiman virgin to start. I particularly loved the introduction which in this case is a background to the circumstances of creation for each story and poem included, and includes the fabulous ungifted Wedding Present. Loved all of this collection, with particular joy being found in The Price, Murder Mysteries and Snow, Glass, Apples. Another to add to my permanent bookshelf when finances allow.
I enjoyed Chivalry, Troll Bridge, The Goldfish Pool, Changes, Looking For the Girl, & Only the End of the World Again. There were interesting twists to other stories that have been told before. All other stories were not my cup of tea at all. There is scene information. Then there is too much information I didn't need to know to receive the story. And some stories I'm not interested to know about at all.
This was my selection for the “a book published in your birth year” category of my local library system’s annual reading challenge! So glad I picked this up. Reading this anthology was a wonderful way to rediscover my love for Neil Gaiman’s unique style and charming wit. ♥️
Gaiman's first short story collection. Some real high spots, and some misses. A few jewels.
