I loved Fragile Things and Smoke and Mirrors is even better. Gaiman's peculiar way of seeing the world comes through especially well, and it makes you think about reality and those little somethings flitting at the edges of your vision.

Neil Gaiman is of course an excellent writer and story-teller. This was still clear in some of his stories but less so in others. The flash fiction included was excellent but the poetry not so much so. A few of the stories really shone out and I will never think of Snow White again in the same light, Interestingly, I often ask my students to write a well-known tale from another point of view. Gaiman does that extremely well here.

3.5 stars. Some stories I loved, and others, not so much, but either way, Gaiman is always a fantastic story teller. This book allowed me to see a side to him I had not yet encountered.
My favorite stories where: The introduction (winky face), Chivalry, Troll Bridge, The Goldfish Pool and Other Stories, Snow, Glass, Apples, and my absolute favorite, We Can Get Them For You Wholesale.
This book was a neat experience and I look forward, as always, to read more from Gaiman in the future.

It was a decent story collection overall! Many very dark and creepy stories, some more light hearted.
