I could not stop reading this beautiful novel in verse. This is a favorite read of 2017! I'm adding this title to my #MockNewbery list for 2018 & I think it is a strong contender fir the Schneider Award. Calli's voice is strong & compelling and your heart instantly goes out to her as she forced to move to her tenth new school & start as the new kid yet again. Through Calli & the authors note, students will get a glimpse into living with Tourette syndrome.

This a beautiful book for all ages. The poetic style was lovely.
Having a son with Tourette's, this book brought the tears. I felt I was able to see the world through his eyes for a moment and catch a glimpse at his experience. It's so much more powerful to try to understand TS through narrative. To the author, thank you, thank you, thank you for writing this book.

Multiple voiced book written in poetry. I loved the message and the characters. At times, I had to stop and reread to know which character was speaking. I think that would be confusing for upper elementary or 6th grade. My middle school students loved the book. Be sure to read author’s note at end of book.

I really liked this. It was one of the better middle grade books I have read. It was so sweet and inspiring.

Przepiękna i niezwykle poruszająca. Niezwykle uwrażliwia na syndrom Tourette'a.

🎧 I cannot say that this is my normal genre but I was scrolling through Libby looking for a super short and highly rated audiobook and this one met both of those standards! Plus I was immediately drawn to the cover because 😍

📚 I would highly recommend this to any middle-grade reader but also to adults looking for a short, meaningful read!
