Forget Me Not

Side point: I didn't like the rasp in this audiobook... It was wobbly raspy...
This book was upsetting. I know there's only so much you can do about Tourette's, but the neglect of this poor child to begin with, the crazy mom trope...
Spoiler up and marrying someone you met over the weekend????

I was not in the mood. And where are we left in the end?? Ugh.
Jinsun was also so annoying until half way through. This was only a 3hr audiobook...

This was a precious story. I’m a 5th/6th ELA teacher so I’m always looking for books that I can add to my classroom library. I loved that the book was written in short bursts of prose. Long chapters were always dreadful for me as a student. I like that there are moments when the rhythm and ~poetry~ of it all is so evident & times when it feels like just a simple middle grade novel. I love that it discusses & works to within even the very content of the book) de stigmatized Tourette’s syndrome. There is almost no book I’ve read — let alone one whose intended audience is children — that dives into the truth of what it can mean to live with Tourette’s. I personally always love a dual/multi-perspective point of view as well. I enjoyed this thoroughly and loved how quick of a read it was.

Book is a 3.5. It is a Teen book about a girl that changes school frequently and has Tourette’s syndrome. Was an easy read.
