Another Juvenile/Middle Grade from my queue. I like the way that this book presents Tourette’s, seeks to break the stigma that can be reinforced by teachers, doctors and/or parents. It deals with bullying as well.

The story is told from two perspectives: the first being the main subject of the book and the second being another student who learns what it means to support and care for those in their lives who are different.

I can't believe I just went ahead of my class and finished this entire book when we really are supposed to finish it by the end of the week :) I loved this book so much, the characters were so loveable and I loved all the relationships in the book. A beautiful story, I really liked the poetry aspect of this book. No question that this is a 5-star read for me.

Another one of my kid's choices for MSBA winner. I liked it a lot. It's an own voices story for the Tourette's part. Calliope June has moved 11 times because her mother keeps getting new boyfriends. Her doctor told her to keep her diagnosis a secret and her mom feels the same way. Calliope doesn't make friends easily this way. The neighbor kid next door thinks she is nice but only wants to be friends with her outside of school. I thought that was pretty accurate for the way kids act. It's a good story in verse.

Very cute, short book!
