Interesting premise, but not very satisfying as a whole. Mostly I was bored to tears reading the chapters.

It was an alright book, but to be considered horror is ridiculous. A newborn wouldn’t be scared by this. (If it could read)

This book started off pretty slowly, and then seemed to ramp up a bit, and then deflated again. I just couldn’t really seem to get into it all that much. I didn’t connect with the characters, and as a result I don’t really care about what happened to them. The change of perspectives of the three main characters was a little distracting as they all sounded the same, making it hard to differentiate between who was actually talking.
I love the idea of bunkers, and the concept sounded like something right up my alley, but it just didn’t deliver the quality that I was expecting.

I think that this book had a lot of potential, but the unanswered questions took away from that for me. Sash's grandmother was initially an important part of the book, one of the only sources of support that Sash had. However, when the grandmother died and disappeared, no one seemed to care other than Sash wanting to know how she died and where her body was. After that, the grandmother was only alluded to. I would like to believe that this was an editing thing and that a deeper involvement with the grandmother was cut because she is just a shell of a character. Also, why was Misha such a dutiful soldier to the Doctor? What were the creatures? Who were the creatures? Why wasn't more about the "experiment" talked about?

I'm surprised this book got negative reviews. I quite liked it! I thought the way the pace of the novel changed reflected the situation of being trapped and...sometimes having to run for your life. The ending was a little unsatisfying but I just think that means we need another book to clear things up.....? Please...?

I picked this up at Barnes & Noble during the hardback sale. It was on a random table, clearly not where it was supposed to be, and the cover looked so interesting so I bought it. I was about 30% through it when I realized the age demographic was probably a little young for what I typically read. However, it was interesting, and I wanted to see how the mystery ended, so I finished it.

It’s very fast paced, and all three of the main characters are very distinctive in their motivations and personalities. I do have a lot of questions about the ending, and I think I could have used a few more chapters to wrap up the storyline and dive in a little deeper.

All in all it was interesting, and I did enjoy it! I’m planning on donating it to my mom’s 6th grade classroom library next time I’m home, as I think her mystery loving students would probably enjoy it!

this book was a little slow at first but it got really good after the first hundred pages or so, definitely would have liked a little more background info at the end but i will google and see if i can fill in any gaps lol. but ya it was very interesting i think if it was made into a movie i would enjoy it a lot and to be able to see everything. also i will say its definitely predictable but still interesting
