Personally, I preferred the first two books in the series, but this volume is a good ending for the series and a good ending for Pip's story.

Wasn’t expecting any of that. Kinda sad.

i knew that Jason was the DT killer but I can’t believe that he got killed by an 18 year old. “Karma is gonna track you down”

My least favourite book of the series but I enjoyed that it revisited themes from earlier books. The character of Pip has changed a lot since the start of the series and I didn’t always enjoy her new personality

This book had me on the edge of my seat. i wanted to reach into it and shake some sense into them tbh.

there's nothing more nervewracking to me than watching a character build a web of lies. i was genuinely more anxious when pip was doing that than when she was abducted.

i had heard both very good and very bad things about this book before reading it, and i saw that someone said that this didn't fit the characters. to which i would say it absolutely does. pip is not the slightly naïve "good girl" anymore. she is traumatised, has lost so much that mattered to her, she has ptsd

(and a drug addiction thanks to that).

she has been failed by the police before. this developement makes perfect sense, even if it's not what we'd wish for her.
