Great continuation of the March series. It’s sad to see the same voter disenfranchisement happening today as it did when the backlash started to the civil rights act.

John Lewis was an American hero and I hope we can learn from his story - as America has a long way to go.

This book was finished after Lewis died and was more interesting to me in some ways than the March trilogy. There was less of Dr. King and more untold stories of Lewis’s time leading SNCC. It depicted Lewis and SNCC coming out against the Vietnam War before other CR groups.

I win this book in a goodreads giveaway. It’s a beautifully done graphic novel, and it’s especially interesting to read that the organization it focuses on also used comics to get out information about their missions and candidates! It’s informative and interesting, the only slight downside is that it jumps around a bit in order to cover so many events and places which can be a little hard to follow. But a great historical graphic novel.

Always for the good trouble, necessary trouble.

This made my heart ache and miss John Lewis.

I also want to shove this into the hands of Manchin and Sinema and ask them to defend the filibuster one more time.

Except a couple dry sections that seem to be listing names, this is a very compelling and very necessary history of the Civil Rights movement. I'm glad it exists and I'm glad I had a chance to read it. Beautifully drawn too.

Continuing story of the civil rights movements. Echos of today. I found the notes from the artist, at the back of the book, fascinating
