I am a bit tired (and still have 2 reviews to write) so here we go, a few words to describe this book and a smallish review: Magical, wonderful, BIG, oppression and freedom, gorgeous, fab main character, family, journey, love.
I had fun reading this wonderful book, I am glad that I got the chance to read this one. I was planning on helping the Kickstarter, but I wanted a physical copy, sadly... the shipping is just mad. I had fun following Celeste on her way through the world. See her figure things out. Learning new things. About womanhood. Love. The cities and lands she (or later on with others) visited, WOW, I want to go as well! But I also seriously wanted to kick some people's butts. People were horrible.

God. What a journey. I’m so mad that my library has this hidden away in a back room.

I wanted to wanted to love this book but ended up being disappointed by it. Instead of being a story that flowed, each chapter was a separate story that seemed very unrelated to the one previous. It rambled aimlessly and the direction the book started in was quickly abandoned a few chapters in. I was frustrated by the way nothing was ever resolved and question about where Celeste came from and whether there were other giants was brought up and then quickly abandoned over and over.

‘Giantess: The Story of the Girl Who Traveled the World in Search of Freedom’ by Jean-Christophe Deveney with illustrations by Nuria Tanarit is a graphic novel about an unusual girl trying to make her way in the world.
Celeste was found as a baby. As a giant, she is different from everyone around her. As the only girl in her family, she watches all of her brothers leave home and she is left behind. When she gets a chance to leave, things don’t go well and she is accused of a crime. She breaks away to find her way in the wide world and explores different ways people live. She goes from living in a community and like royalty to a strict religious order,
I liked this tale of finding the freedom to be yourself. Celeste was a good guide in this tale that reminded me a bit of Gulliver’s Travels. The art was pretty good and Celeste was a sympathetic outsider.
