This was fantastic!
I am a huge fan of bizarre magical realism and this book de-li-vered 💯

This is a collection of short stories (with one longer story in the middle) and they are all a bit weird in their own twisted ways. As with almost every collection, some stories were better than others and I think the last one was the weakest. But overall they all had their own charm and I was in awe of how much the author accomplished in such short stories. Also, all the stories had brilliant first lines (and last lines too usually) which got me hooked immediately.

I think this was my favourite read of 2023 so far and I am looking forward to reading more from Yukiko Motoya.
