Sarah Eden is a go-to when I need a good, fluffy reading experience, and this is one of her better ones, with some witty banter and a well-constructed narrative. Note: I grade on a curve for fluffy books :)

I love reading stories of strong women in the “Wild West”, and Miss Paisley Bell is precisely that. Quick on the draw, she’s been acting sheriff for the sleep town of Savage Wells for much longer than the two weeks the town thinks. Six months in fact. So when the Mayor put out and ad for a new sheriff, she throws her hat in the ring, along with several rough and tumble men from the territory.

Things heat up with competition and dangerous criminals. Is Paisley up for the task?

I LOVE this story. Here’s why:
*witty banter
*breaking the societal mold
*men supporting women
*smart and capable fmc
*wild west setting
*strength of character
*PTSD rep
*Caretaker rep

I didn't mind it. While I don't think it is her best work it isn't bad. Characters are well founded, story is solid, I just wished for a little more.

I really wasn't sure if I would like this book, Westerns already are a turn-off for me but figured I liked Sarah M Eden's books that it was worth a shot. I loved the banter between Cade and Paisley. I appreciated the realness of Mr. Bell's illness. Excellent book and action. Plenty of clean romance too.
