The plot is definitely thickening! I can see Mark struggling to keep his secret, balance high school, his love interests, and superhero responsibilities. Mark’s mom (Debbie) is understandably anxious about his safety. She isn’t painted in blue but she still wears purple shirts in nearly every scene she appears in. Danger from unsuspecting places are bubbling to the surface and I’m excited to see how Mark reacts.
Mark’s Dad (Robert) killing the guardians of the globe! Equally as shocking in the comics as it was in the TV show adaptation. I think he framed Samson’s Butler somehow, but I can’t remember and/or I’m not sure how he did it.

Earlier, there was a fairly even ratio of male to female characters, but dramatic unforeseen circumstances have changed the ratio. There are now more white males. I’m hoping for more female characters and characters of color. Dupli-Kate may be Asian, but haven’t seen enough of her yet.

Using archetypes to simplify the Guardians of the Globe was a smart choice, also doing the introductions for them with base stories about daily life. The plot twist was also well executed.

That was fun! And a little bit more dark than I was expecting. Consider me hooked.

The second volume in the invincible series. It get's even better than the first trade. the guardians of the galaxy are introduced in here (and they remind you very much of another superhero team) and mark/invincible deals with new problems and opportunities (what if two attractive girls want to hang out with you?)

These stories take your average superhero story and turns up the heat. This mature take on superheroes is a fun adventure. Definitely would recommend to comic book lovers!

This is good, but for once I admit I liked the show's handling of some elements better. Which said, a show has a lot more room for plot elements, and the character changes really worked.
