This book is a perfect New York rom-com if that’s what you’re looking for! It deals with themes of grief and depression after losing a loved one, so be sure to check the trigger warnings.
Loved! Read in one sitting at a spa, I cried and just was obsessed with the story. Feels a little em Henry??

DNF/skimmed the last half of this book in less than an hour because I just couldn’t justify spending any more time than that on it.
For starters, the FMC is insufferable from the very first chapter. Yes, I understand she’s grieving and can appreciate what the author was trying to show, but for the first 100 pages, almost every single sentence is a complaint or example of how terribly she’s treating everyone around her.
That, coupled with a very elementary level of writing, (I swear more than half of the sentences in the book begin with “I”) make a very complex issue feel entirely too trivialized and disjointed.

Passion Project by London Sperry is a heartfelt, easygoing read that balances themes of grief, healing, and self-discovery with a slow-burn romance. The premise is cute, and the adventures tied to the “passion project” bring some genuinely fun and touching moments. I could really connect with trying to find my passion again and it made me want to start my own passion project. Henry, the male lead, is an absolute standout. He's so sweet, supportive, and endlessly patient, he really anchors the story emotionally. While Bennet’s internal struggles and emotional back-and-forth can be a bit frustrating at times, they also reflect her journey through heartbreak and growth. So, even though I wasn't fully enjoying it at times, I still loved their banter and the heartfelt undertones.
