The premise could have been great but the characters really fell flat. Bennett is grieving her ex-boyfriend and not ready to move on. She single-handedly tries to burn her life down over and over again. Any sort of emotional healing she does is almost against her will. I cannot express how much this girl needed to go to therapy and yet it never crosses her mind. She continues to be surprised when her actions and lies hurt the people trying so hard to care about her. It made connecting with her and the book really difficult.

5 stars! This was so good! It’s the perfect summer in the city, new york city bucket list, rom com! It was full of emotion, character development, and adventure! Every character felt real and raw, I fell in love with all of them in different ways. Highly recommend!

this book was so easy to read. it's like im being caried through NYC. the writing was also beautiful, and i was completely absorbed with the book. the way it portrayed about grief, depression, the loneliness was so brutal, yet so real.
the characters were so entertaining, and the dynamic was so good.
yes, this whole story was about Bennet, so we don't get Henry's pov. which is kinda wasted because he's such a great character.
in some way, i really despised Bennet, like she really got my nerve. but then again, i remember that she was still grieving, and people do cope with grief in many ways.
Bennet's character development was so good from the beginning up to 80%-ish when the third breakup act came, i think she's so manipulative towards Henry. i felt so sorry for him.
again and again, i had to remind myself that she is grieving, and i think she also has the avoidant tendency, so she kept pushing people away, and she like prefer to drowning in her own miserable life. she really does need to seek some help. and im so glad and grateful that Henry is one the best helper.
and the ending, the last 2 chapters, i was so happy i couldn't stop smiling. thank god she found the bravery for herself and did Henry the justices he deserved.
"But we never push each other away anymore. We always let the other in. We take care of each other."
