Overall I really enjoyed this book. I liked how she wrote about her experience with and through grief, love and forgiveness.

3.5 Stars (maybe) | This would be a unique spin on our Uncorked Reading Challenge Bingo theme "hobbies" as Bennet tries to discover her passion.
I wanted to enjoy this book slightly more, especially with all the good reviews; the ending offered some redemption after another bleh scene. I found Bennet's almost self-indulgent, lack of growth, and just selfishness extremely frustrating and toxic to read over and over again - grateful for the mention of therapy, mental health, and move in the right direction (but it's barely there until the final chapter). I enjoyed watching her passion dates with Henry, but as an MC, honestly didn't love her... and I wanted a strong book about mental health, overcoming grief and guilt, and finding yourself. It just didn't hit many marks for me, even though parts of the story are beautiful and fun. I'm glad I read it, though.
Summary: After the accidental death of her boyfriend, Bennet leaves college and moves to NYC in his honor, losing herself in temp jobs and the city. When an online date gives her a second chance to find her passion through meet-ups, as friends, she begins to leave her room and find meaning in life once again, reconnecting with friends and family. I love the small community of friends Bennet gains.

The premise could have been great but the characters really fell flat. Bennett is grieving her ex-boyfriend and not ready to move on. She single-handedly tries to burn her life down over and over again. Any sort of emotional healing she does is almost against her will. I cannot express how much this girl needed to go to therapy and yet it never crosses her mind. She continues to be surprised when her actions and lies hurt the people trying so hard to care about her. It made connecting with her and the book really difficult.
