I just picked this book up for 35 cents at a second-hand store because it struck me as an interesting idea. I wasn't particularly impressed but there was also nothing wrong with it.

This is probably more like a 3.5. I enjoyed it! It is kind of like an underwater western. It was a quick read, but very fast-paced and interesting! Ever chapter ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, so it was hard to put down sometimes. The story and the characters weren't very deep, but it was exciting and fun to read. If there is a second, I would probably read it!

Kat Falls does something with her novel: she writes well. In the world of young adult literature where grammatical errors and less than stellar writing usually take the stage, Dark Life happily breaks free. Great writing takes the stage with an amazing story with grown up plot twists. This is a perfect story for young adults especially those interested in the ocean, the wild west, and post-apocalyptic worlds.

I really really loved this book! I thought the writing was effortless and the story interesting, with little developments that were well planned.
