Breeding kink is definitely NOT my thing, especially when it does actually result in pregnancy. This book cemented that knowledge.

However that's not why it warranted 2 stars, it just seemed a little all over the place plot wise. I didn't hate it but I spent a good 50% skim reading to make it over with sooner. Sunday, the FMC, was still entirely one dimensional, the motivations of the characters were all over the place and there were too many unresolved side plots.

What a great ending. And now, I am off to cry at the fact there is no more.

Of the entire series, I did like this one less than the 3rd, but a lot of it had to do with the fact that she was split from three of them for half the book. BUT this one had the most plot. It’s where it all came to head. And it was all very well done.

And the relationships between the guys - YES. Her being gone had them bonding in ways, and throwing around terms like family and pack, and seriously, I was on the verge of crying for most of it. So different than the start of the series, where they all (rightfully) didn’t like each other. It’s insane, after finishing, to think once they were all in classrooms, hanging out at school. The series has come far from the academy setting.

The ending took me for a surprise - her final wish there, but I like how it ended. I *do* wish the ending scenes with them and her were done as a group, but I do understand the individual element for them all, all things considered. And the group scene earlier in the novel HOLY. I could have done with more of those.

I downloaded the bonus scenes the author’s had available, and they’re so cute. Such good insights into little Eden and how their time is together. One thing I now don’t get…So for Caleb’s birthday, Noah gifts him some of his blood, so Caleb can gain the ability to walk in the sun and spend the day with Sunday and Eden. Why not make this a recurring thing, in which every day Caleb drinks some of Noah’s blood?

All in all, can’t wait to go on to the other series, and i’ll be sure checking out the individual books by each of the authors.

“When my time comes around
Lay me gently in the cold dark earth
No grave can hold my body down
I'll crawl home to her “ — work song by Hozier

4.5 ⭐️ Cause I cried my freaking eyes out at the church scene and nearly the ending. If Caleb didn’t get his happy ending he deserved I’d be so mad. Thankfully he did.

I just finished the fourth book in the Mate Games series called Temptation and all I can say is WOW!! I was absolutely blown away with the first book Obsession and the books that have followed did not disappoint. What I loved so much about this book was the predominate focus on Caleb and Sunday’s relationship. He is my absolute favorite in the harem and the spotlight was all on him.

The conclusion was epic and was so sad to read the last few chapters. I hope the authors look to do a novella on the side, because I’ve fallen absolutely in love with these characters and would love to see what their future looks like.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
