While I might not have loved all of the couples, I will REALLY miss this series. Especially because I love Tarak so much. I definitely plan on continuing this story in the spin off.
Tarak and Abbey are still on Silence because Tarak's forces are still needed to control uprisings on the planet. I so did love the interaction when he found a kid that was attacking him and his men. It's during one of these that he is contacted by the people on his ship that something is wrong with Abbey. Needless to say, he goes to her as fast as he can and charges thru every one to see her. Only to learn that it's his actions that are now killing her.
When Tarak saved Abbey's life with his blood, the nanites healed her of course. But now, between them and the virus, they are slowly eating away at her from the inside. To make matters worse, she could very well spread it, forcing her to be away from their daughter. It's bad, sometimes really bad, but the doctors are doing all they can to fight the affects. But to save her, Tarak is going to have to find the doctor that made him what he is and go back to where it all began. Something neither him nor anyone on his team are very happy about.
The planet they must go to is a dangerously beautiful place that might not have been as abandoned as they were led to believe. It's very touch and go there for Abbey, but Tarak will not allow her to give up and leave him or their daughter. In the end, it all works out for them and I was very happy with it all.
It was really great seeing Tarak as a parent, and his way with their daughter was true to form and fantastic. I am beyond thrilled that he is still going to have his position of command and power, no matter what the official title or capacity might be. That man was born to be in control and to be obeyed. Also learning that his name literally means "Breaker of Worlds" was pretty awesome.
The only thing I don't really get is why Abbey's nanites turned against her and nothing has happened with Rianna. Didn't she get some of Kail's blood too?
All in all this was a fantastic series and I can definitely see me reading Tarak's books again. And like I said, I really look forward to reading the spin off. He better be in it a lot damn it.

It has a weak plot of Abbie's nanites starting to turn on her and nothing can be done by the doctors on starlight. OK I don't mind the nanites storyline only the way it was "solved" and lots of that just didn't make sense so just read over it. Cannot do anything for her yet it'll work like that. So they go back to the planet that Tarak was made on and all these memories come forward. We get to go into his past. We get to hear how much they miss their baby. Abbie is dying one minute and having sex in the healing bath the next.
With all the flip flip just to get the past out in the open... well, it was boring. One you are dealing with a already formed couple so the plot has to hold the story, it does not. At least not for me. They put some of the other women in the book but not enough to really care or see the future for them. They could have done a Kithia building story, struggle there but instead we just get to see the politics and told what happened and we get to go try to save Abbie. Nope, it wasn't interesting to me and not enough plot to make me like it. It was OK to see the others and to get some of Tarak's past though much we already knew.
Unnecessary to the series. Just a drawn out continuation after the end has already happened.

Draining the blood and cleansing and only one doctor can do it and only in one place and in the end it isn't even what supposedly saves her but the control she gains over them. With all the flip flip just to get the past out in the open... well, it was boring. Another great book in the Dark Planet Warriors series. Anna’s characters are complex and I love them.
I wasn't thrilled thrilled go back to Abbey and Tarak. I don't dislike them, but I didn't love them enough to want multiple books about them. I thought this was going to follow the groundwork that was started after the political upheaval in the previous books, but that wasn't the case. It was more of a reaffirmation of how great they are and didn't really advance the story arc. I'm bummed, because I really wanted more in terms of where things are now. I read the first book in the spinoff series and I haven't decided if I'll continue.

I loved this book & am thoroughly enjoying reading the series!!! Wonderful universe too!
Love the General!!
I really like the closure. I'm really gonna miss Tarek and his mate. He was a true alpha male. Such a great series

My favourite couple from this series. I would love to have more stories about them.
