DNF at 47%. I went in blind on this one. The cover looked cool and it was on KU so I got it. Once I figured out it was a Peter pan retelling I decided to give it a try.
First major ick comes in the fact that Winnie JUST turned 18 and she’s still a high schooler. Just because someone is 18, does NOT mean that they should be put in stories like this. It’s gross and frankly really really wrong.
I decided to keep reading on because it’s a short book and I was hoping that it would get better. But seeing as I read this a bit after I watched Disney’s new Chip and Dale movie all I can picture Peter Pan is the old fat guy version in the chip and dale movie.
What sealed the deal was the first chapter in the character named “The Brownie” pov. The name and description of the character only being referred as “it” gave me enough concern to full stop and literally say out loud “what the fuck is this shit?!”
