Loved this book if I could give it a higher rating I would. I've been struggling to find a book to keep my attention for a few weeks now but as soon as I picked up this book I couldn't put it down it captivated me from page 1. Excited to start book 2!

This was ridiculously fun!! Everything was so intriguing and mysterious and I couldn’t stop thinking about it throughout the day. The plot had me on the edge of my seat it was so interesting. The smut 🔥🔥🫠🫠 I’ve read so much romance and therefore smut that I’m kind of desensitized to it 🤣 but the smut in
this had me sweatingggg!! Also I loved how the relationships developed and all the characters!!

I dunno. I felt like the book was going at a good pace and then suddenly it felt rushed and then it was over? It left me wanting, but not in an eager way - like you would for a sequel. I finished reading and went "....That was it? 🤨"

Title: The Never King
Author: Nikki St. Crowe
Series: Vicious Boys 1
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

The Never King (Book 1), quite the evocative page Turner, had me completely hooked from beginning to end. The Never King is a Peter Pan retelling wrote as a dark romance, why choose for readers over 18+. **Make sure you read the tws for anything that might be triggering for you.**

I'm a 90s babies so I grew up on Disney movies my entire childhood; with that said I don't dislike the Peter Pan story person but its definitely not my favorite. So of course I was hesitant to read this series because I was afraid it wouldn't be all that good. Let me be the first to admit when I'm wrong about something and boy was I wrong. The Never King is about Peter Pan being overthrown by Tink and the darling girl stuck without his magic for several generations. He's desperate to get back what was taken from him so forces every darling girl once she's 18 to try and help him right the wrong her great-great-great-great grandmother committed towards him. So when Pan goes to pick up Winnie, he's shocked to find out that she's different from all the other darlings and before long, he starts to care about something more than his magic. Now let's not forget about the sexy side characters Vane- The Dark One, Kas and Bash- the fae princes... woah, talk about hot. The spice in this book was beyond amazing and I literally had such a hard time figuring out which guy I liked more.

This book ended up being so much better than I thought it would. I was enthralled with the world building of neverland and the lost boys. I thought the way the author retold the story, how she was able to use the characters from the original story, and turn it into something fresh and modern was **chef's kiss***pure perfection!! Of course the fact that this is a why choose dark romance with 4 hot guys and one female of course makes the story not only more appealing, but more interesting. I will never look at Peter Pan the same way. 🥵🥵🤣🤣 I highly recommend this book not only because it's good but because I truly loved the way the author made this story her own and put such thought into each character and their personality. Crowe didn't skimp on any scene or detail and she managed to write it smaller than a normal book, making the book quite a fast read but not rushed or sloppy.
