First Impressions
The Truth About Him is the second book and the finale to the story between Dylan and Annie's story. This book literally picks up right after the first book ends so you can easily jump right into this one after reading the first book. I had such a fun time with this one here, and seeing the way into which these two learn each other and find their way of resolving their issues. I really admired the way in which this story was written. It starts off with so much intrigue and danger and tension and seeing our couple really find their ways past the stones thrown into their path was admirable.

First Line
Annie McKay came to slowly. Aware in pieces of her surroundings.

Summary
No summary as it will spoil the ending of the previous books.

What I Loved
I am going to keep this review a bit shorter as I don't want to reveal what happens at the beginning of this one as the first book ended with a cliffhanger. I know some of you may not mind some spoilers and I am sure other reviews will have those, but if you really want to know what happens I have it below here
(view spoiler)

The romance between Dylan and Annie is so endearing in this story. They really have to face some issues within their relationship and learn to fight for each other. There are secrets that revealed that were hinted at in the first book. But we also see the type of love that these two have for each other. I just admired their trust in one another and embracing fully what they have. It definitely had a "couple against the world" type of feel to the story. There are multiple characters that try to dissuade these two from being together. My heart ached for both of them. They both have flaws and struggles, but they truly come together so sweetly. I admired their convictions and standing strong despite the discouragement and learning to fight for each other. There is such a level of teamwork that comes into play into their story which I really appreciated. They had some drama in the first book, but this one is where their relationship issues gets resolved pretty early on and we see them fight against the outer conflicts that rise up.

Narration
Like the previous book, the narration in this one was with the same narrator and they did a superb job in portraying the conclusion for Dylan and Annie.

Overall View
This story was a powerful conclusion to our couple and seeing the mysteries being resolved and seeing our epic pair find their poignant journey to their well deserved happy ending. A POWER PACKED FINALE!

Favorite Quote(s)
I was not the right man for her, but I wanted to be.
And I was humbled by her choice.

She owned me. Despondent and wrecked, smiling and bright—it didn’t matter. I was hers.

“You. You are what is different. You have changed everything.” It was the unvarnished truth. As close to love as I was capable of getting.

Oh Dylan, you are definitely a new book boyfriend.

This book picked up right where the last left off, and I loved it just as much as the first one.

I liked that this wasn't some crazy ending where even though they know each other better now, they ran off and got married and lived happily ever after. This was more realistic (well, as far as the relationship goes).

They both had to work at the relationship, and sometimes it blew up in their face. Although, most of the time that ended up in sex.

And, now that I have the back story, I'm really excited to read the next one.

Loved Book 1, thought this book ended Annie and Dylan's story a little too abruptly and easily.

Dylan & Annie's story picks up right where book 1 left off. This time Dylan's POV is in the 1st and Annie's in the 3rd. They get to know each other on a much deeper level after all the shenanigans with Annie's husband is over.

Overall, I liked this duet as a whole, but the first book slightly more than this one. There's a nice set of side characters that get their chance at a happily ever after in [b:Burn Down the Night|27970260|Burn Down the Night (Everything I Left Unsaid, #3)|Molly O'Keefe|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1460072492l/27970260._SY75_.jpg|47973609] and [b:Wait for It|28476289|Wait for It (Everything I Left Unsaid, #4)|Molly O'Keefe|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1472589550l/28476289._SY75_.jpg|48617273].

M. O’Keefe - Broken Darkness - So vollkommen
(Broken Darkness Serie Band 2)
.
Dylan hat es mir angetan
.
Klappentext:

The end of Everything I Left Unsaid just about killed me. I can’t even imagine the pain of reading this book the first time it came out. To have to wait just to find out what happened next is a torture I’m lucky enough not to have endured. Sometimes, it pays to be unaware and I’m glad I was a latecomer to this series. Like I mentioned in my review of the first book, I had to fight the urge to pull an all-nighter because Ms. O’Keefe’s ending was torturous, to say the least. And so, I devoured this installment with the same fervor I did with the Everything I Left Unsaid.

In here, we find Dylan and Annie coming to terms with what they need from each other and what they have to do to move forward. Annie’s past will thankfully be behind her at the beginning of this novel. Dylan, however, still had a lot of shit to deal with. First and foremost, the burden of his missing brother that will threaten everything he cared for. And he’s yet to reconcile the fact that he can’t see himself ever forgiving his father who’s practically near death. The past is rushing up to collide with his present in possibly the most devastating way. Unless he can somehow stop it.

This felt like a prolonged ending of the first book and an introduction to the third (Burn Down the Night), which is Max’s story. He’s Dylan’s older brother who, unfortunately, couldn’t escape the life their father forged for him. But we’ll learn that Max did everything he could to give Dylan a fighting chance at a better life. Though it would seem that Dylan has succeeded, he’s never fully escaped. Because the criminal clutches of that motorcycle club Max belonged to is far-reaching, revengeful, and they never forget.

Annie and Dylan’s relationship finally moved forward in this book. Dylan had a few moments of self-flagellation and pity party which drove me insane. The martyrdom didn’t suit him, which made me want to kick his ass every time he thought Annie deserves better (I’m sure she did, but come on.). I’m also happy that Annie stood her ground. She wanted Dylan to have a semblance of a relationship with his father regardless of how tumultuous it had been in the past. So she made sure he understood how important it was for her to stay put so she can care for him.

I’m happy with the resolution of Annie and Dylan’s story. I’m ready to move on to Max. I’m not gonna lie, I’m terrified too because Max’s story sounds like a road trip to Angstville. If I haven’t mentioned it before, I’m really glad I found these books. It made me realize that not all NA are created equal. This series is definitely one of the good ones!

Since I read both book 1 and 2 back to back, I wish they would have been one story. Everything I Left Unsaid was super compelling, I enjoyed the tension of Annie and Dylan's phone relationship, and gah that cliffhanger. This book felt more repetitive, with lots of little breaks between Dylan and Annie as they try to navigate being in an actual relationship and a lot of stuff with the motorcycle club that I didn't really care about.

I'm really intrigued to read more about Annie's neighbor in her book. Cannot wait.

Rated 3.5 Stars

I was so excited to read this book because I loved Everything I Left Unsaid and couldn't wait to read Dylan and Annie's HEA sadly this book just didn't live up to its predecessor. It was slow, never fully captured my attention and I felt quite detached from it.

While Dylan and Annie got their HEA it somehow left me dissatisfied because there were questions left unanswered. I hope there are more books because I really do need those questions answered.

Overall I think it was a solid read I just wish there weren't any nagging unanswered questions.
