Monster romance steeped in religious imagery? A trans mmc? When I found out about Exodus 20:3 I was foaming at the mouth to read it!! This was bewitching, sensuous, and erotic in the best way. Though it’s short (only 83 pages), Exodus 20:3 packs a punch unlike anything I’ve read.
Graphic: Sexual content
Minor: Drug use, Transphobia, and Police brutality

look idk if this book was just exactly what i needed when i read it but it was everything to me. it felt like reading supernatural fanfiction on tumblr with lana del rey's "religion" playing in the background. it just gave me such a sense of peace and nostalgia reading this. i loved every word and it was literally an experience to read this.
anyways, i read this for the 2024 trans rights readathon and am so happy i did! the setting was stunning, with lyrical writing, heavy religious imagery and (borderline) blasphemy that actually healed my religious trauma (thank you fundie upbringing). it was soft and scary and stunning and freydis just set such a beautiful backdrop for an incredibly unique story.
my only complaint is that it wasn't longer i want a full length novel of them😭😭

I think I have to sit on this one to fully form my thoughts but I enjoyed it! Freydis Moon is an absolutely stunning writer. I think my biggest complaint was that it was a little too short, making it hard to fully get into but regardless I enjoyed.
