I don’t really know that I can adequately put my thoughts and feelings into words after finishing this novel.
In this post-apocalyptic world - we’re following the lives of a few individuals prior, during, and post a pandemic known as the “Georgia Flu”. Taking out a majority of the world’s population, those that remain are forced to survive without electricity, food, homes, and so much more.
Had we not experienced COVID-19, I don’t think that this book would have had the same effect on me that it did having lived through it. While devastating in its own way, reading this book makes me realize just how fortunate we are to have come out the other side of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that believes they can handle it. It is incredibly well written, descriptive and detailed without being overwhelming, with a beautiful story written between the bad things. The only complaint I have with the novel - and my reason for knocking off a star is due to the ending which in my opinion felt a bit rushed.
I’m looking forward into reading additional works by this author.

Read this because of a review on TikTok . Um…mind blown!
NICU premies swapped at birth, found out 2 years later. Court cases between the two families, one rich, one not rich. Mysterious accidents. A whole lot of lies.
Reminds me of “Gone Girl” in which I was thinking there were no redeeming characters but the ending showed different …kinda.

Another very enjoyable thriller from JP Delaney - we get kicked into high gear almost immediately, as Miles turns up at Pete's door to say "our kids were swapped in the hospital, you have our son, we have yours, let's be amicable about this bro". Chaos slowly ensues, as you might imagine, and Delaney does a very good job of continually ratcheting up the tension at a steady pace. Good stuff!
