Second book by J.P. Delaney. The first half of this book read more like a dramatic contemporary and the 2nd half a psychological thriller... and it totally worked for me! I felt more for these characters so much. I was completely invested into the outcome of this heartwrenching unimaginable difficult situation. The book was well researched. Once again I jive so well with the writing style. When I started this book I was completely engrossed and my morning plans were cancelled. Read this in 2 days, 3 sittings.

To say I couldn’t put this book down would be an understatement! I LOVED every second of this book!

I haven’t read JP Delaney’s other work so was new to his writing, but I now need to hurry to get his other books! This story had me on the edge of my seat constantly and I genuinely felt sick whilst experiencing this journey with Pete and Maddie and couldn’t help but constantly put myself in their place and have my mind churn with ‘what would I do in this position!?’

Playing Nice is the told through the POV of Pete and Maddie and is the story of how their world suddenly was tipped on its side when a stranger knocks on their door to reveal that the child they have raised for 2 years is not their own... I won’t say anymore as you’ll have to get the book to discover who this unveils!

One of the easiest 5 stars I’ve given! I truly loved it start to finish and don’t want to give away ANYTHING but usually the payout at the end of even the greatest of novels are still somewhat of a letdown, yet right to the final pages this still had me hooked and the ending was incredible!

Thank you so much to Quercus and Netgalley for the ARC of this book! I will be recommending it to anyone and everyone! Such a brilliant read!

Never thought I’m going to love a book, in essence, about parenthood. But this was so good! One of my favourite thrillers of all time.

4 stars for a solid read. Tired of authors dreaming up bizzare plot lines to create twists. Have to respect that the author didn't do that here.

I am a very enthusiastic fan of J.P. Delaney and I was excited to get a ARC of this book.

Once I picked it up I read it nonstop even in a busy airport. This story dealt with a interesting plot of two families fighting for custody of their children. I won't spoil the ending but I will say the story keeps you on your toes until the final chapter. Lots of twists and turns and characters who have complex backstories.

This is definitely in my top 2 books by this author. I highly recommend this book if you want a fast paced and engaging story to add to your reading collection. 5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley and JP Delaney for this Advanced Copy.

Excellent story.

It follows the precarious birth of Maddie and Pete’s child Theo. Then, two years later, another couple whose child was in the NICU at the same time appears on their doorstep with unimaginable news — their children were switched at birth.

After seemingly trying to manage the situation amicably, Miles Lambert displays disturbing signs of psychopathic behavior. Or does he?

The story takes the reader on a journey to discover who is telling the truth until the very last chapter.

When a couple find out that their 2 year old boy was swapped at birth they try to navigate what's best for all parties.
This started out well but the couple descend into a nightmare as the other couple aren't who they appear to be.
I really enjoyed this story and didn't want to put it down.
