I'm in the process of reading this, and while it is interesting, I sure hope it picks up the pace soon. The concept is interesting and knowing that there are two more books for it to expand is keeping me going at this point.

Lowkey feel bad for Xander but he ain’t gonna have her
3.5 stars
My main complaint with this book was how cliche it was. Think - YA dystopian and you've more or less understood the book.
A girl who starts to doubt the system after a few suprising turns in her life. Controlling government. Love triangle.
Which is where my second complaint comes in. Cassia's relationship with Xander. He's there for her. He loves her. He helps her. Doesn't ask questions. And, she doesn't do anything to appreciate it, or even to earn any of it. Instead, the first opportunity she has she runs off after someone else.
I thought he deserved much better than her, honestly. It was probably for the best that she ran away.
Putting that aside, it was an exciting adventure full of danger, loyal characters and a corrupt government that I'm sure most teens would enjoy.

Or both.
Content warnings:
Romance:
Lots of hand holding, hugging and thinking of touching and kissing. And Cassia obsessing first over Xander then Ky. A few actual kisses.
Violence: A few deaths. Nothing graphic.
Cassia's father dies in the story, while telling them his family how much he loves them.
People die at the age of 80. They're convinced it's for the best because that way they can plan everything and don't have to deal with the fear of not knowing when they'll die. Cassia discovers that they're slowly poisoned so that they die on exactly the right day.
There's a pill that makes people forget the events of the past few hours. In one scene a rebel runs away and everyone but Cassia takes it.
Religion:
Angels are mentioned. Saturday is an official work day.
For those that qualify for Perservation, their DNA is frozen in case one day society is able to bring back the dead.

Matched wasn't the most eventful and fast-paced book I have ever read, but it was thoughtful, interesting and poetic. I enjoyed reading it and learning about this new culture sometime in the future.
Cassia, the main character, annoyed me a little as I didn't get what she saw in Ky. Xander seemed like the perfect person for her, an ideal 'Match' and I don't understand why she wans't grateful she got match with her best friend, someone she had known forever and who knew her.
Anyway, it wasn't five-star material, and I couldn't bring myself to give it three stars either, because of how much I enjoyed it, so four stars it is. :)

2.5 stars.
I'm not exactly sure why, but I just didn't really get into this book very much. It didn't seem as interesting as I'd thought, but I do like it fairly well. There are certain aspects about Condie's writing that I liked a lot, the way she uses words. I had originally planned to finish the series, but I don't think it's for me.
