I read this over 10 years ago when I was a teen, in German, and remember loving it.
I found the whole set in English second hand and had the strong urge to reread it and so far, book 1 done, I'm enjoying it as much as I think I did last time.

I typically like dystopian and utopian novels and this one had an interesting premise, but it felt very repetitive and outdrawn until the last quarter when it got more interesting but then it just ended with no resolution. Not sure if I will read the rest of the series.
3.5 stars! I was in the mood for a good series so I thought about some of the YA series that I read when I was younger. I think I read in 8th grade? I will be reading the next two books because this was so fun to reread
Mit einer der besten Rereads, die ich gelesen habe! Das Buch ist mein absoluter Favorit in seinem Bereich und ich habe einfach alles daran geliebt. Cassia und ihre schöne, langsame Entwicklung sind super gemacht. Außerdem finde ich es gut, dass die Autorin an alle Beziehungstypen gedacht hat. Sie war da sehr gründlich - allgemein hat sie vieles detailliert geschrieben. Erst beim zweiten Read ist mir aufgefallen, wie wunderbar das Worldbuilding ist. Das ganze Buch war einfach viel besser als ich mich daran erinnert habe und damals habe ich es vier Sterne gegeben (denke ich, ich war damals so 13 Jahre alt. Es ist schon länger her.)

První knížka přečtená v angličtině. Výborná volba, hehe. Ten svět byl totálně ujetý, úplně jiným způsobem než Hunger Games, a Cassie jsem si hned oblíbila. A Xander a Ky? Pořád mezi těmi dvěma přeskakuju. Ale vím, že chci aby byla s Kyem. Oni k sobě prostě patří. Ky a ty jeho oči ... a ten konec. A Xander, i když věděl, že Cassie je zamilovaná do Kye a ne do něj, byl stále při ní. A jak Ky Cassie učil psát, jak se jí postupně svěřoval tím svým způsobem .

I loved the first 25%. The middle half bout killed me. I held out hope for the last quarter. And it didn't deliver. Pacing is off and I can't ship Cassie with either. But my guess is that it is KY at the end. And she changes the world.
